From College Hustle to Community Roots: The SMTS Journey
My brother and I started SMTS to get through College working between classes, family and 2nd jobs to make ends meet. We worked with Real Estate companies, builders and of course residential clients over years to build our rapport with the community.

We took every client’s job as a learning environment to build our knowledge of the trees and what keeps them healthy and safe. Our love for the trees coupled with our education in engineering and physics keep us at the forefront for complex, dynamic rigging solutions for emergency storm relief as well as residential removals and pruning/trimming. In 2020 SMTS reformed our directive and invested heavily into the next generation of tree care with state of the art equipment, education and training as well as growth with our workforce.
Mechanization is the future of safety, efficiency and competitive pricing that keeps SMTS on the leading edge of Arboriculture in our community. Today, SMTS is a father/son owned business that is always learning, growing and evolving that has reached across the country with clients in Iowa, Illinois, Tennessee, Colorado, Arizona, Alabama and Florida. Though our focus in within our community and outlying areas, we go where the trees beckon. Our future is bright with mechanization and SMTS has structure in place to branch into the crane side of the industry.
